Day 06 - Saturday 07th February 2009

Measurements and Pictures:

Due to the party in slough and then crashing at my girlfriends Saturday night i have been unable to take either the measurements or pictures today.

Day 06:

This was Day 06 of Dax Moy's Muscle in a Month Challange. Dispite not being able to take pictures or measurements i was however on top of the workout. Deadlifts and Pull-ups? Easy. Arm work? OUCH! I have done more arm work this week than i have in all my life!

Diet wise, well, my friends commended my strength as i didnt touch the buffet Friday night at the party nor did i drink a single drop of alcohol. It nearly killed me! Especially when all my friends were eating a nice fried breakfast. I knew i was strong, but not that strong. I have really impressed myself this week. 6 days with no junk food. Never happened in my life!

Day 05 - Friday 06th February 2009

Measurements:

Unfortunatly due to a straight-after-work-trip-to-Slough I was unable to find time to take measurements.

Pictures:

These have been taken and will be uploaded shortly

Day 05:

This was Day 05 of Dax Moy's Muscle in a Month Challenge and it hurt, a lot. I went into the workout already sore from the 4 previous days and a hardcore chest and shoulders workout really hit me hard. I really enjoyed it but i would never want to put that sort of pain (good pain of course) onto anyone! Dax is a smart yet evil, evil man!

Bring on Day 06!!!

Waist - (Navel NOT trouser size!) - 33.5"
Hips - (Biggest gluteal protrusion) - 36"

Weight: 76.7kg
BF%: 20%

I will tidy all this information up at work tomorrow. I knew that my weight would be significantly different to Day 03 results due to the time it was taken. Same with the BF reading. I need to ensure that i start doing these at the same time eachday to get accurate results.

Still no change in my legs but the change in my chest and shoulder is still there. So much for human error!!!

Picures:

Day 04:
My arms feel HUUUUGE! I have never worked my biceps or triceps this hard, ever. No growth in them just yet but my oh my i can feel it coming! My legs are also very sore from a lot of hamstring work.

Short but hard session today, looking forward to tomorrows hell.

Day 03 - Wednesday 04th February 2009

Measurements:

You will notice that both the chest and shoulders have gone up, quite significantly. I think part of this may be human error but i am definatly feeling bigger in both areas. You will also notice that my weight and BF% have both dropped. I think that majority of this is due to time of weigh in. Normally i weight and measure around 9pm (2 hours after workout and last meal) however these were taken on the morning of Day 04 as i was out visiting friends last night. Will be interesting to see what happens on Day 04.

Pictures:

Day 03:

Ouch. In fact ouch doesnt quite cover it. This session included heavy squats and squat jumps from hell, along with more chest and back work. Stairs were not my friend last night, nor was the walk to work this morning.

I am getting used to the constant ache now and as a result i may be able to push even harder in the gym. Awesome.

Diet wise; Still not cheated! You have no idea how happy i am about that! 3 whole days of eating properly, i never thought i would be able to. The cravings are still killing me but it is getting more bareable.

Roll on Day 04!!!

Day 02 - Tuesday 3rd February 2009

Measurements:

Im shocked by that BF% reading. Ok it was done on one of those handheld devices but 20.2%? Since when? I suppose it will be a good benchmark. Looks like i have more fat to loose than i thought!!!

Day 02 -

After being a competitive swimmer for 10 years I know my shoulders and triceps can take a beating in training and rarely become sore or give me any grief what-so-ever....however this is Day 02 of Muscle in a Month and aready both are screaming at me!

Intense....really intense!

It has been ages since i have done direct arm work, but there is was staring at me in the face. Day 02 hurt, badly. The scary thing is i have already seen what is in store for Day 03 and it makes today look like nothing!

Nightmares tonight i think!

Diet has been easier and more painful today; The constant headache was bothering me all day and it doesn't help when collegues tease and tempt you throughout the day. I suppose what doesn't kill you makes you stronger...right? If that is the case then i must be very strong! I am still not use to snacking on fruit and nuts - they just dont seem to fill me up like the old Yorkie bars used to, then then it is only the second day.

Until tomorrow,

Sean Ryan

Pictures:

Not the greatest pictures in the world but this is me looking moody as usual, hopefully that frown will turn into a smile after these 28 days :)

Day 1:

The top secret workout looked hard and my god it was a killer! Im sure everyone has heard of DOMS? Well these DOMS were instant! I am still feeling the aftermath this is 3 hours later!

The hardest part of today is the cravings and headache; My diet usually is rubbish, filled with junk and e-numbers. I generally survive work on numerous cans of coke and Yorkie bars. Today has been so different. I had a salad for the first time...of my life! And fruit, that has never been a part of any meal for me.

Green Tea is something i am going to have to get used to but after 28 days im pretty sure i will be used to snacking on fruit and nuts.

Thats it for today guys, im hungry so off for an apple!

Dax Moy's Muscle in a Month Challenge

You never know what to expect when you log online to check the various forums that you make a habit of visiting daily. Whether it is a new article on T-nation, another interesting query on www.theabsforum.com, or more incrediable tips from Dax Moy.

But i never expected this!

A new discussion highlighted that Dax Moy needed some guinea pigs for his new program 'Muscle in a Month'. 28 days of exercise and nutrition by the book, no breaks, no rest, no excuses, and no days off.

Obviously i signed up straight away along with other Personal Trainers from accross the UK.

The next 28 days will involve daily photo updates and measurements which in itself will be hard to keep up with. The hardest part however will be following the Elimination Diet to the letter! This means no caffine or junk food - two things i tend to rely a lot on to get me through the working day!

So what am i trying to achieve through this? My goal is to add 10lbs of muscle to my frame. A lot of people will call me out on this saying it is impossible - we will see. I believe in myself so to me the sky is the limit!

When is the start date? As soon as i have prepared for the Elimination Diet i will kick off my 28 days of MIM.

The workouts are Top Secret so i will not be posting them however you can follow my 28 day journey here.

Follow me on this journey and i will see you all the other side!
